19th Annual Joseph Bernfeld Distinguished Speakers Program

Access to Consumer Bankruptcy, the Consumer Bankruptcy Reform Act, and the Role of Lawyers

Professor Jiménez, one of the original drafters of the Warren-Nadler Consumer Bankruptcy Reform Act (CBRA), will reflect on the proposed Chapter 10 and other features of the bill that aim to increase equitable access to consumer bankruptcy. She will also discuss the role of lawyers in increasing access to bankruptcy under the current system.
