18th Annual Joseph Bernfeld Distinguished Speakers Program
Crystal Ballin’ – An Exploration of the Future of Bankruptcy Law at the Supreme Court of the United States
This program will feature freeform prognostications about the future of bankruptcy law at the Supreme Court. Among other topics, the speakers intend to discuss recent and upcoming decisions, pending cert. petitions, ripe circuit splits, and the potential consequences of the replacement of Justice Ginsburg with Justice Barrett.
This year’s speakers are K. John Shaffer, a partner of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP and former Supreme Court law clerk, and Whitman L. Holt, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Washington and co-author of Bankruptcy and the Supreme Court: 1801-2014 (West Academic 2015).
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic the program will be held by Zoom video conference. Invitations with the webinar information will be included in your registration receipt.
